DESCRIPTION:This presentation aims to introduce the phenomenon of Micromapp
ing in OpenStreetMap. The author will present examples of micromapping\, t
he types of objects it includes\, his own definition\, and helpful sources
such as high-resolution aerial imagery and cadastral data. They will atte
mpt to classify and showcase both good examples and best practices\, as we
ll as negative examples. The question of where the boundary of detail lies
will also be raised. The examples shown will focus on Poland\, but throug
h its case\, it will be possible to identify general patterns of micromapp
ing.\nAdditionally\, the author will attempt to highlight a problem within
micromapping\, which they tentatively call the phenomenon of "map freezin
g." This term refers to the issue where maps become overly detailed and st
atic\, potentially hindering updates and usability.
